Hand poked tattoos are a machine free way of tattooing. While using the same sterile supplies as a machine tattoo, the needle is pushed manually into the skin without the aid of a machine. This practice is typically more gentle and less traumatic to the skin. Some may even claim it is a meditative form of receiving a tattoo.
